The Story of Stratford
19 July to 3 September 2010

East Thames is delighted to host ‘Story of Stratford’ – a visual multimedia installation of young people’s work celebrating a two-year commission with artists Helen Marshall and local schools Colegrave Primary and Stratford School.

Photos, drawings, sounds, text and video representing Stratford’s past, present and future examine what the regeneration of the area means to the students and their families. It highlights the changes at Westfield Stratford City and the 2012 Olympic Park developments.

The project is supported by Westfield Stratford City and managed by A New Direction, the key strategic body for connecting young Londoners with the city’s creative and cultural energy.

We are very grateful to the LAARC, Museum of London for the loan of their handling collection, Newham CLC for cameras and multimedia tools and Newham Council’s Heritage and Archive Services.

Moses Calling
Moses Calling
24th April – 11th June 2010

This exhibition displays work by Moses, one of East London’s most exciting budding artists, and as he is an East Thames resident, we jumped at the chance to present this collection of work.

Much of Moses’ art is personally linked to him - from sketches of eerily warped self portraits right through to his abstracted works - exploring and reflecting on his own personal life experiences and themes.

He describes his art as a means of expression, therapy and escape - an escape, he says, to ‘a world I want to fly into’.
