Our Aim
Our aim is to support young people to deal with the factors in their life which may contribute to anti-social behaviour or other difficulties.
We provide positive activities to give young people a focus and help them to avoid trouble.
The service is aimed at young people who may have been involved in anti-social behaviour on the estates or surrounding areas in which they live, to the victims of such behaviour, and to other young people who live in areas where such behaviour occurs.
Programmes and Skills
Time for Youth also provides group activities to develop skills, provide new experiences and address issues such as self esteem and anger management.
Specific programmes address particular illegal activities such as car crime, fraud, anger management, weapon related crime or self esteem.
The service also ensures that East Potential's Foyers can accommodate young people with a range of needs.
New Ground
Time for Youth has broken new ground in successfully resettling young people from custody into foyers, and through the provision of accommodation and support ensuring that they do not re-offend.
Over the past year ten young people were supported to move into a Foyer on their release from prison, and benefit from the services Foyers offer.
Respect Action Plan
"In order to provide a culture of respect, we need to provide opportunities and support to children and young people and to challenge bad behaviour as it occurs. Many of us have needed support and guidance to turn our lives around - every child must have that and it is our duty to provide it".
"Mentoring projects have been proved to change the expectations of many young people at crisis points in their lives. Mentoring can improve self confidence and self esteem, increase motivation and raise expectations".
What people think
"It has made me more confident, and I see different things in different ways. I feel blessed to have had this support"
