Culture and the Arts
We run a successful culture and arts programme which helps to build people’s confidence and develop creative skills that can benefit them and the wider community.
Our work has been very successful in foyers where culture and arts programmes have helped more people to get involved and led to some high profile performances and exhibitions.
We work with local communities to develop public arts projects and with local community centres to run school holiday arts activities.
We also work alongside other cultural and arts organisations to develop the creative sector in east London and Essex.

Sport
The 2012 Olympic games are helping to raise the importance of sport throughout Britain, but even more so in east London where the games will be held.
East Potential has been promoting sporting activities before the Olympics were awarded as a valuable community resource.
We have supported residents to develop football clubs, boxercise classes and summer holiday play schemes that have helped bring communities together, and provided much needed activities for local young people.
We will continue to develop sports with local providers as well as introducing programmes of our own where there are gaps.

Health
People’s attitudes towards health have changed over the years to become a lot more holistic. We have come to realise housing and health issues are very much related and we are in a good position to help tackle these problems.
We have responded to needs in our communities and our experiences working in partnership with health providers have taught us we have a lot to contribute to make the population of east London and Essex healthier.
We now work closely alongside public and private sector health services to make sure we play our part in tackling health inequalities in the areas we work in.
